Leg Glow creates printed activewear, and prints only work when the artwork behind them is used fairly. If you believe something on legglow.shop copies your photograph, illustration, pattern, text or other creative work without permission, this page shows you how to tell us and what we do next. It follows the notice-and-takedown process set out in the U.S. Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA), 17 U.S.C. § 512, and we apply the same approach to notices from Canada, Australia and New Zealand. Trademark, design and publicity concerns have their own process on our Intellectual Property Policy page.
Copyright notices at a glance
- Email notices to support@legglow.shop with the subject “Copyright notice”, or post them to Leg Glow, 2243 Sagamore Parkway West, West Lafayette, IN 47906, US.
- A complete notice has six parts, listed in section 3. Missing parts slow everything down.
- We acknowledge emailed notices within 24 hours on business days.
- Valid notices lead to removal of the material and, for made-to-order items, a stop on further printing of it.
- Customer photos sent for personalized orders are never published, are used only for that order and are deleted 30 days after delivery.
- If your content was removed by mistake, you can send a counter-notice (section 6).
1. What this process covers
This page applies to everything published on legglow.shop: product images and digital previews, the prints and patterns shown on our leggings, joggers, shorts, skort, matching sets and kids pieces, product descriptions, page text, banners and graphics. It also covers the content customers send us to make personalized pieces, such as a photo for a photo print or a pet photo, even though that content is not shown on the site.
Leg Glow is a single store. We do not host other sellers, marketplaces or user profiles, so any notice you send is about content we chose to publish or a print we agreed to make. That makes our side simple: if your claim is valid, we deal with it ourselves.
2. Before you send a notice
A few quick checks can save time for both of us:
- Is it actually your work? Similar themes, such as a pumpkin on a Halloween pair or snowflakes on a holiday print, are not copying on their own. Copyright protects a specific expression, not a general idea or a style.
- Is it copyright or something else? A logo or brand name is usually a trademark question. Use the Intellectual Property Policy for those.
- Could it be licensed or fair use? If you are unsure, consider getting legal advice before you send a formal notice.
- Is it a simple question? If you just want to know where a pattern came from, email us without the formal elements and we will answer.
3. What a complete notice includes
Please put all six of these in your notice:
- Signature. A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner, or of a person authorized to act for them. A typed full name at the end of an email counts as an electronic signature.
- The original work. A description of the copyrighted work you say has been copied. A link to where you published it, a registration number if you have one, or an attached image all help.
- The material on our site. The exact URL of each product or page, and which image or part of the page you mean. “The galaxy print capri leggings, second image” is far easier for us than “your leggings”.
- Your contact details. Your name, postal address, telephone number and email address.
- Good-faith statement. A statement that you believe in good faith the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent or the law.
- Accuracy statement. A statement that the information in the notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the owner or are authorized to act for the owner.
| Method | Address | Tip |
|---|---|---|
| Email (fastest) | support@legglow.shop | Use the subject “Copyright notice” or “Counter-notice” so it reaches the right queue |
| Post | Leg Glow, 2243 Sagamore Parkway West, West Lafayette, IN 47906, US | Include an email address so we can reply quickly |
| Element | Hard for us to act on | Easy for us to act on |
|---|---|---|
| Your original work | “My art from a few years back” | A link to your portfolio page plus the file attached |
| Our material | “Your floral stuff” | The product URL and which image, for example the flare leggings listing, third image |
| What was copied | “It looks like mine” | “The repeating fern motif on the waistband is traced from my 2024 watercolor” |
| Your authority | No mention | “I am the artist and sole owner” or “I represent the artist under a written agreement” |
We do not take copyright notices by social media or in the checkout order notes. Email or post only.
4. What happens after we receive your notice
- Acknowledgement. We confirm receipt of an emailed notice within 24 hours on business days.
- Review. We compare the material you identified with your original work. If something is missing from the six elements, we tell you what to add.
- Action. If the notice is valid, we remove or disable the image, text or product listing concerned, and we stop printing that design on new orders.
- Confirmation. We email you to confirm what we removed.
- Follow-up. If you also want to discuss open orders or past sales, reply to that email and we will continue the conversation.
Because every Leg Glow item is made to order, removing a listing stops new production of that print right away. We do not keep a stock of finished garments that would keep selling in the background.
5. Customer photos and personalized prints
Personalized pieces are made from what customers send us. A shopper types a name, date or photo description in the checkout order notes box and emails the photo with their order number. Those photos are private. We never show them on the site, never use them in marketing and delete them 30 days after the order is delivered.
Every customer who sends a photo confirms, under our Terms of Service, that they own it or have permission to use it. In practice that means:
- your own snapshots, such as a bachelorette weekend group photo you took, are fine when the people in it agree;
- a photo of your own pet is fine;
- a professional photographer’s image needs the photographer’s permission, even if you paid for the session, unless your agreement allows prints;
- screenshots of films, cartoon characters, sports team logos, album artwork or images found online are not allowed unless you hold the rights.
If we can see that a photo is clearly someone else’s protected work, we do not print it. We email the customer, explain why, and offer a new photo, a plain version of the item or a full refund. If a rights owner contacts us about a personalized item we already made, we look up the order, share what we can lawfully share and stop any repeat order using that image.
6. Counter-notices
If material you provided was removed and you believe that was a mistake or a misidentification, you can send a counter-notice to the same email or postal address. It needs:
- your physical or electronic signature;
- a description of the material removed and where it appeared before removal;
- a statement under penalty of perjury that you believe in good faith it was removed by mistake or misidentification;
- your name, postal address and telephone number;
- a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for your address (or, if you are outside the U.S., any judicial district where Leg Glow may be found) and that you will accept service from the person who sent the original notice.
We forward a valid counter-notice to the person who sent the original notice. Under 17 U.S.C. § 512(g), the material may be restored after the period the statute sets unless that person tells us they have filed a court action. In a single-brand store, counter-notices are rare, but the option is there.
7. If you find Leg Glow prints copied elsewhere
This process also works in the other direction. Our prints, product previews and page text belong to Leg Glow, and we do not authorize other shops, marketplaces or print-on-demand listings to reuse them. If you spot a Leg Glow design or one of our product images on another site, for example our holiday family-set artwork on a marketplace listing, let us know at support@legglow.shop with the link. We follow it up with that site under its own takedown process. You do not need to send the six formal elements for a tip like this; a link and a short note are enough.
8. Partial removals and edits
Not every valid notice means a whole product disappears. If only one image in a listing uses your work, we may remove that image and keep the rest. If a description borrows a few lines of your text, we rewrite the description. Where the print itself copies your work, we take the whole product down and do not bring it back in a lightly altered form. Whatever we decide, we tell you exactly what changed so you can check it yourself.
9. Keeping records
We keep a copy of every notice, counter-notice and our replies, together with the changes we made. That record helps us spot repeat problems, answer follow-up questions and show what happened if a dispute ever reaches a court. Notices may include personal details, so we handle them under our Privacy Policy and share them only where the DMCA process or the law requires.
10. Misleading notices
Under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f), anyone who knowingly makes a material misrepresentation in a notice or counter-notice may be liable for damages, including costs and attorneys’ fees. Please send a notice only when you are confident in your claim. If we receive notices that are plainly abusive, for example a stream of claims over generic shapes like hearts or stripes, we may stop acting on further notices from that sender.
11. Repeat problems
If a customer repeatedly sends content for printing that turns out to infringe other people’s work, we may decline future personalized orders from that customer and close the account. We also review our own designs whenever a valid claim comes in, so the same issue does not come up twice.
12. How this fits with our other policies
Copyright is one piece of the picture. For a full list of the content we own and how you may use it, see the Intellectual Property Policy. For how we handle customer photos and other personal information, see the Privacy Policy. For the rules that apply to every order, including personalization through the order notes box, see the Terms of Service.
13. Contact for copyright matters
Send copyright notices and counter-notices to support@legglow.shop or by post to Leg Glow, 2243 Sagamore Parkway West, West Lafayette, IN 47906, US. For anything that is not a copyright matter, such as an order question, a return or a sizing swap, use Contact Us or Submit a Ticket so the right person sees it sooner.
