Our pieces are made to order across many styles, and we would rather send you the exact measurements for the one style you are looking at than print a general chart that might not match it. So this guide does two jobs. It shows you how to measure your own body properly, and it explains how to choose between sizes for each type of product. When you are ready for numbers, email us the product name and we will reply with its measurements within 24 hours on business days.</p>\n<h2>What you need before you measure</h2>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>A soft tape measure.</strong> The bendy kind used for sewing. A metal tool tape will not wrap around you properly.</li>\n<li><strong>Thin clothing or underwear only.</strong> Measuring over jeans or a hoodie adds bulk you will not have under leggings.</li>\n<li><strong>A mirror</strong>, so you can check the tape stays level all the way around.</li>\n<li><strong>A friend, if possible.</strong> Inseam in particular is easier with a helper.</li>\n<li><strong>A note on your phone</strong> to write each number down as you go.</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Stand relaxed, feet about hip-width apart, and breathe normally. Do not suck in. You are measuring for comfort in movement, not for a photo.</p>\n<h2>How to measure your waist</h2>\n<ol>\n<li>Find your natural waist: the narrowest part of your torso, usually a little above the belly button. Bend sideways and the crease that forms is a good guide.</li>\n<li>Wrap the tape around that line, keeping it flat and level across your back.</li>\n<li>Pull it snug against the skin but not tight. You should be able to slide one finger under the tape.</li>\n<li>Read the number where the tape meets its own end and write it down.</li>\n</ol>\n<p><strong>High-waist styles:</strong> a high-waisted pair sits around the natural waist. If you prefer a lower rise, also measure where you actually like your waistband to sit and tell us both numbers when you email.</p>\n<h2>How to measure your hips</h2>\n<ol>\n<li>Stand with your feet together.</li>\n<li>Find the fullest part of your hips and seat, usually around the widest point of your bottom when you look side-on in the mirror.</li>\n<li>Wrap the tape around that point, keeping it level all the way round. It tends to drop at the back, so check in the mirror.</li>\n<li>Keep it snug, not squeezing, and note the number.</li>\n</ol>\n<p>Hips often decide the size for leggings and shorts, because the fabric has to move with you through a lunge, a squat to pick up a toddler or a long stride on a walk.</p>\n<h2>How to measure your inseam</h2>\n<p>Inseam is the length from your crotch down the inside of your leg. It tells you where a hem will land.</p>\n<ol>\n<li>Stand straight, barefoot, with your feet slightly apart.</li>\n<li>Place the end of the tape at the top of your inner thigh, right at the crotch.</li>\n<li>Run the tape straight down the inside of your leg to the point where you want the hem to sit: the ankle bone for full-length, just above it for 7/8, or mid-calf for capri.</li>\n<li>Write down the number for each length you are considering.</li>\n</ol>\n<p><strong>Shortcut:</strong> take a pair of leggings you already love, lay them flat, and measure along the inside leg seam from crotch to hem. That gives you a real-world inseam to compare against.</p>\n<h2>Measuring a child</h2>\n<p>Kids rarely stand still, so make it quick. Measure in the morning, over underwear or thin pyjamas, with them standing tall against a wall. Take waist and hips the same way as for adults. For inseam, have them stand on a flat floor and measure from crotch to ankle bone. Do it twice and use the larger number. Write the date next to the numbers, because they will be out of date sooner than you think.</p>\n<h2>Our size names and what they are for</h2>\n<p>Here is how our size labels are grouped. Use the size options on each product page to see which sizes that style comes in.</p>\n<table>\n<caption>Leg Glow size labels and who each group is for</caption>\n<thead>\n<tr>\n<th scope=\"col\">Size group</th>\n<th scope=\"col\">Labels</th>\n<th scope=\"col\">Who it is for</th>\n<th scope=\"col\">Where you see it</th>\n</tr>\n</thead>\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td>Adult</td>\n<td>XS, S, M, L, XL, 2XL, 3XL</td>\n<td>Adults choosing from the main range</td>\n<td>Leggings, joggers, shorts, skort, sets</td>\n</tr>\n<tr>\n<td>Plus</td>\n<td>1X, 2X, 3X, 4X</td>\n<td>Adults who wear plus sizes and want a plus-size cut</td>\n<td>Plus leggings</td>\n</tr>\n<tr>\n<td>Kids</td>\n<td>4Y, 6Y, 8Y, 10Y, 12Y</td>\n<td>Children, labelled by approximate age</td>\n<td>Kids activewear and family prints</td>\n</tr>\n</tbody>\n</table>\n<p>The kids labels follow approximate age, but children of the same age come in very different heights and builds. Always measure rather than going by birthday alone.</p>\n<h2>Choosing a size, product by product</h2>\n<h3>Full-length leggings</h3>\n<p>Full-length leggings are meant to reach the ankle. Your inseam matters most here: compare it with the measurement of the style you pick. Choose by hips first, then check your waist. If you plan to wear them for cold walks or yoga where you are folding forward, a snug fit through the hip keeps them in place. Browse <a href=\"/collections/leggings/full-length-leggings/\">full-length leggings</a>.</p>\n<h3>7/8 leggings</h3>\n<p>A 7/8 legging stops a little above the ankle, so a slightly shorter or longer inseam still lands in a nice spot. If you are tall and find full-length styles finish above your ankle anyway, a 7/8 is designed to sit there on purpose. Torn between two sizes in our 7/8 pocket leggings? Some shoppers order both, keep the one that feels right in a real workout, and send the other back inside 60 days.</p>\n<h3>Capri leggings</h3>\n<p>Capris end around mid-calf. Measure your inseam down to where you want them to stop. Hips and waist decide the size; length is mostly set by the style. Watch out for the classic capri vs full-length mix-up: check the length in the product title before you add it to your cart. Browse <a href=\"/collections/leggings/capri-leggings/\">capri leggings</a>.</p>\n<h3>Flare leggings</h3>\n<p>Flare styles fit close through the hip and thigh and open below the knee. Size by hips and waist as usual. Because the flare adds length visually and can brush the floor, check the inseam carefully, especially if you wear them with flat shoes.</p>\n<h3>Fleece-lined leggings</h3>\n<p>A lining adds a cosy layer. If you like room to layer over tights or want an easy fit for a chilly Canadian walk, consider your usual size or the next one up. If you want close support for brisk movement, stay with your usual size.</p>\n<h3>Plus leggings, 1X to 4X</h3>\n<p>Plus sizes carry their own labels, separate from XS-3XL, so measure your waist and hips and pick from 1X, 2X, 3X or 4X. If your hips and waist point to different sizes, let the hips lead for comfort in movement, and tell us both numbers if you email for advice. Every leg deserves a print that glows.</p>\n<h3>Joggers</h3>\n<p>Joggers have a relaxed leg and a cuffed or gathered ankle. They are meant to sit loosely, so size by waist and hips and trust the cut to give you room. If you like a slouchy, lounge-day feel, the larger of two sizes usually works. If you want them neat for travel, take the smaller. Browse <a href=\"/collections/joggers/\">joggers</a>.</p>\n<h3>Yoga and biker shorts</h3>\n<p>Shorts hug the thigh, so add one more measurement: the fullest part of your thigh. Shorts that are too small can roll up during a run; too large and they may slide. Choose by hips first, then email us your thigh measurement if you are unsure. Browse <a href=\"/collections/yoga-shorts/\">yoga shorts</a>.</p>\n<h3>Tennis skort</h3>\n<p>The skort pairs a skirt layer with shorts underneath. Size by waist and hips. If you sit between two sizes and plan to move fast on court, go with the size that keeps the shorts layer snug.</p>\n<h3>Matching sets</h3>\n<p>Sets include a top and a bottom in the same print. Check how each set is sized on its product page. If your top and bottom sizes differ, email us before ordering with the set name and your measurements, and we will tell you what is possible. Browse <a href=\"/collections/matching-sets/\">matching sets</a>.</p>\n<h3>Kids activewear, 4Y to 12Y</h3>\n<p>Kids grow between orders, and sometimes between ordering and delivery. A child who wears 6Y today might be ready for 8Y by the time a holiday set arrives. Measure waist, hips and inseam, then think about when they will wear it. For a party a few weeks away, pick for today. For a full season of wear, a little growing room usually pays off. Browse <a href=\"/collections/kids-activewear/\">kids activewear</a>.</p>\n<h2>Between two sizes? Use these tie-breakers</h2>\n<table>\n<caption>How to decide between two neighbouring Leg Glow sizes</caption>\n<thead>\n<tr>\n<th scope=\"col\">If you…</th>\n<th scope=\"col\">Lean towards</th>\n<th scope=\"col\">Why</th>\n</tr>\n</thead>\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td>Want firm support for workouts</td>\n<td>The smaller size</td>\n<td>A closer fit moves with you and stays put</td>\n</tr>\n<tr>\n<td>Want an easy fit for lounging or travel</td>\n<td>The larger size</td>\n<td>More room for sitting and stretching out</td>\n</tr>\n<tr>\n<td>Have hips and waist pointing to different sizes</td>\n<td>The hip size</td>\n<td>Hips usually decide comfort in leggings and shorts</td>\n</tr>\n<tr>\n<td>Are buying for a growing child</td>\n<td>The larger size</td>\n<td>Growing room stretches the season of wear</td>\n</tr>\n<tr>\n<td>Plan to layer over tights in winter</td>\n<td>The larger size</td>\n<td>Extra room for the layer underneath</td>\n</tr>\n<tr>\n<td>Still cannot decide</td>\n<td>Ask us</td>\n<td>We will send the style&#8217;s exact measurements</td>\n</tr>\n</tbody>\n</table>\n<h2>Five sizing mistakes we see most</h2>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Measuring over clothes.</strong> A sweatshirt bunched at the waist can push you into a size that feels loose once you pull your leggings on.</li>\n<li><strong>Letting the tape slip at the back.</strong> A tape that dips behind you reads larger than you really are. Check it in the mirror.</li>\n<li><strong>Going by your jeans size.</strong> Denim and stretchy activewear are sized differently. Measure fresh instead.</li>\n<li><strong>Ignoring the length.</strong> The right size in the wrong length still feels wrong. Match your inseam to full-length, 7/8 or capri before you buy.</li>\n<li><strong>Guessing for kids.</strong> Age is a starting point, not an answer. Two eight-year-olds can need different sizes.</li>\n</ol>\n<h2>Sizing for personalised pieces and gifts</h2>\n<p>Personalised pieces, like name waistbands or photo leggings, are made to order just like the rest of the range. Pick the size the same way, then type the name or details in the order notes box at checkout and send any photo by replying to your confirmation email. We do not send a proof before production, so double-check the size and the spelling together.</p>\n<p>Buying for someone else? A sneaky look at the size label on their favourite leggings is your best clue. Planning matching photo leggings for a bachelorette weekend? Ask each person for their size before you order, and list everyone&#8217;s size clearly in your cart. If a size is wrong, the change window is 24 hours from ordering, and returns are open for 60 days after delivery. Browse <a href=\"/collections/personalized-prints/\">personalized prints</a>.</p>\n<h2>Keeping the fit you chose</h2>\n<p>How you wash your leggings affects how they fit over time. Wash cold and inside out. Skip the fabric softener. Hang them to dry instead of tumbling on high heat. Keep them away from zips and rough fabrics in the same load. Treat them gently and they keep their shape and their glow.</p>\n<h2>If the size is not right</h2>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Within 24 hours of ordering:</strong> email us to change the size.
